Brooklyn Tabernacle Choirの「Worthy is the Lamb - 小羊に誉あれ」

壮大で力強い。そして、なんと美しいメロディラインなんでしょう。

曲名にもある"Lamb"は、小羊という意味ですが、救い主であるイエス様のことを表しています。「羊=イエス様？」なぜ羊と表されるかというと、旧約聖書の時代、神様の生贄に小羊が捧げられていました。新約聖書の時代、イエス様は救い主としてこの世に来てくださり、私達の罪のために身代わりとなって十字架につけられ、私達の罪の代価をご自身が生贄になることで支払ってくださいました。というわけで、聖書ではイエス様のことを小羊、羊と表すことがあります。

この曲は、聖書の黙示録5:12から取られています。
